Julian Thew has been announced as Team PokerStars' latest recruit and joins John Duthie, Vicky Coren, JP Kelly and Jude Ainsworth in the steadily burgeoning UK contingent. 'I'm thrilled to have been offered a spot on Team PokerStars and I look forward to promoting the brand on my travels throughout the year.'
Thew is one of the most respected pros on the tournament circuit and has been playing the circuit regularly for almost a decade.The highpoint of his career was undoubtely the last few months of 2007/start of 2008.
In September 2007 he won GUKPT Plymouth, a few weeks later he took down EPT Baden and by January 2008 he had recorded yet another GUKPT main event win, this time in Brighton. As of February 2010, his tournament earnings number almost $2.5m.
Thew's first tournament as a Team PokerStars Pro will be the Manchester UKIPT.
