BugsysClub players rescued after the site is a victim of the credit crunch

PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site, has come to the rescue of over 180,000 poker players after the online poker site BugsysClub ceased trading.

BugsysClub, which launched in 2003, was created by a group of private investors. The site attracted thousands of players but unfortunately failed to gain a sufficiently large enough customer base to continue operating in such a highly competitive market.

PokerStars.com and BugsysClub have forged a deal which sees PokerStars.com taking on all BugsysClub player accounts, thus ensuring that no BugsysClub players lose their funds.

Brian Baker, CEO of BugsysClub, said: “We are saddened by the events that have lead to the closing down of the BugsysClub card room. However, we are delighted that PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site has come forward to continue taking care of our players personally.”

BugsysClub players are being invited to transfer their balances to PokerStars. PokerStars will also be hosting a series of freeroll tournaments for BugsysClub players to welcome them to the PokerStars community.
