World Series of Poker organisers kick off Player of the Year award - with huge prizes up for grabs

Nearly two weeks into this year's World Series of Poker, organisers have announced criteria for the official 2007 WSOP Player of the Year award.

The Milwaukee¹s Best Light Player of the Year award will be presented to the player accumulating the most points throughout the 2007 WSOP. Points are earned based upon finishing position in all open bracelet events with the exception of the Main Event and $50,000 HORSE Championship.

'We now have a triple crown at the WSOP the Main Event and HORSE titles and the Player of the Year designation,' said Jeffrey Pollack, commissioner of the World Series of Poker.
