Lynne Beaumont proved herself the ‘Queen of Poker’ after a thrilling victory in the Betfred Women’s Poker Tour final.

In a nail-biting final held at the Broadway Casino in Birmingham on Saturday, 8 December, she showed terrific skill and patience to fight back and clinch first prize in the eight-seated final of the UK’s first ever female poker tour.

Lynne, from Newcastle, was crowned ‘Betfred Women’s Poker Tour Champion 2007’ after beating local girl Dawn Allen in the early hours of Sunday morning to scoop the £1,000 first prize plus a £20,000 sponsorship package from Betfred boss Fred Done.

A delighted Lynne, who has only been playing poker for a year, said
