51-year-old Kevin Schaffel has been playing poker since he was 11 years old, mainly in small home games around his home state of Florida. He does boast a decent live tournament record however, notching up $168,000 worth of cashes that includes a 42nd place finish in the 2004 WSOP Main Event that was worth $60,000.
Until recently Schaffel owned and operated a printing company for over 30 years before the business closed and left him semi-retired. A keen golfer, he has said that he plans to play a lot of golf in the coming weeks and months to prepare him for the final table.
