Poker Players: Player Interviews

Phil Galfond On High Stakes Poker

Phil Galfond explains why he's been playing $25/$50 online recently and what it takes to stay at the top in this video interview

Playing online as 'OMGClayAiken' Phil Galfond is usually one of the very first people to sign up to a nosebleed stakes cash game on Full Tilt Poker when they run. However, for much of the last six months, Galfond has only been seen sporadically online and rarely in the big games populated by the likes of Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius.

Has he gone busto? Has he lost his passion for the game? Was he too busy constructing a slide into his New York apartment to care?

In the second part of our exclusive video interview Paul Cheung asks Galfond where he's been and why he has been spotted playing stakes as low as $25/$50 rather than his usual $500/$1000 game. Galfond also talks about the sacrifices it takes to be the best in the world, how ego affects his game and when he will be back at the highest limits.
