Weekend Review

Tiger Woods won the USPGA - but it was Scott Verplank's performance that made us money

A mixed bag from the weekend, Verplank was a good tip for the traders, and we have more rugby form

Rugby

About evens here as Ireland lost but France beat the handicap. However lots of little notes for the world cup black book.

Dallaglio is not an 80 minute force. Noon wonderful defense, nothing else. Lewsey still not the player of 2003.

France still run beautifully, but in Skrela have a more pragmatic fly-half. Both sets of forwards powerful - but not yet as dynamic in tackle as All Blacks.

Ireland need to play their best side, and pretty soon. They look rusty and their back-up players below standard. Scotland have a beefed up pack and were dynamic with it which will work against lesser sides but not against the main teams.

They will be much better if Southwell replaces Lamont at full back, and Patterson was good at fly-half.

These are all notes for us for the next 7 weeks.

Golf

Verplank was the pick at 100-1 and he went as low as 7-1 after his second round of -4. Well that is a wonderful and very profitable trade - well done Scottie!

Cricket

We layed around 1.8 and then watched the draw oscillate between 1.6 and 2.7 for most of the duration.

We are traders of cricket and our usual modus operandi should have been used for a profit.
